An attempt at trying to create an Infra-red style photograph from a standard RAW file. Helped by the atmospheric abbey and clouds.
The Bass Player
It’s not all about glamorous locations and the X100. This was taken in a dimly lit rehearsing studio back in 2007 with a D70 and 90mm f2.8 – the fastest lens I had at the time. Shot in RAW and converted using Silver Efex.
Grand Central
Just got back from New York and although I didn’t have much time I did spend a little at the Apple store end of Grand Central. This is another B&W shot pretty much straight out of my X100 (only tweaked the contrast and noise reduction in Lightroom).
From the top …
The view from the top of the Empire State Building is something else. This is looking across to the Hudson River.
Flatiron
Probably my favourite building in New York, the Flatiron building, with a NY cab racing past. I think I prefer this shot in B&W, but I might publish the colour shot soon. I did another edit with the cab yellow against a B&W background, but I’m not sure …
